Educating the Next Generation through STEM and Robotics!
At FTC Team #30686 Electrolights, our mission is to inspire young STEM students through robotics and STEM education. We believe that by fostering creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork at an early age, we can build a brighter future for our community and beyond. Through outreach programs, we aim to make STEM accessible and exciting for students of all backgrounds, helping them discover their potential and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Throughout 2025, our team has been actively engaged in outreach efforts across multiple schools in our region. We visited numerous institutions to support both rookie and established FLL (First Lego League) teams. Our sessions covered essential robotics concepts including robot design principles, gyroscopic sensors for navigation, PID control algorithms for precise movements, and valuable tips on their presentations. These hands-on workshops provided practical knowledge and mentorship to help young engineers develop their skills and confidence.

Teams Helped
The impact of our outreach has been truly remarkable. Many of the teams we mentored went on to advance to sectional competitions, showcasing the effectiveness of our guidance and support. By sharing our experiences from FLL competitions, we helped bridge the gap between FLL and FTC, preparing students for higher-level robotics challenges. Our efforts have not only improved individual team performances but also strengthened the overall robotics community in our area, creating a network of inspired young innovators ready to tackle real-world problems.
Here are some memorable moments from our outreach activities:
Our outreach work directly supports the goals of FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) by cultivating a pipeline of skilled and passionate students. FTC is more than just a competition—it's a platform for learning, collaboration, and innovation. By promoting STEM at a young age through our FLL mentorship, we're ensuring that the next generation of engineers, scientists, and technologists is diverse, capable, and ready to address the challenges of tomorrow. Every workshop, every tip shared, and every team that advances contributes to a stronger, more innovative community. Join us in making a difference—one robot at a time!
